Emergency Boiler Replacements | Heati

It’s important to know how to navigate your boiler when living in a property. Boilers can be confusing to understand how to work, but once you get the hang of how to operate your appliances, it becomes second nature.

There are plenty of boilers to choose from, but Worcester boilers are known for being reliable, long-lasting and relatively straightforward to use. In the worst-case scenario when your boiler stops working, it’s useful to be able to reset it with ease. To find out some key tips towards resetting your Worcester boiler, read on.

Knowing How to Reset a Worcester Boiler

Understanding how to use all your home appliances will make life much simpler. There’s nothing more frustrating than having a broken boiler, especially in colder months when you need to maintain heat within your home.

It’s common for boilers to lose power without there being any faults, and this can still happen regardless of the brand you decide to go for. Sometimes a simple reset could be the answer to your problems, which is why it’s handy to know how to get it started again.

Resetting a Worcester Boiler

Resetting your Worcester boiler might be much easier than you think. When it comes to having to reset your boiler, the first thing you’ll need to do is hold down the reset button at the front of your boiler control panel.

You’ll need to hold the reset button with some force, pressing your finger down firmly for at least five seconds to give it a chance to get working. Certain Worcester models don’t have a reset button but do come with a reset light instead.

The reset light is straightforward to find and is often placed on the temperature dial. Similarly to the reset button, you’ll have to hold the dial in place for up to five seconds before turning it back to its original position. If your boiler remains silent and doesn’t turn back on after operating the resetting options, it could need repairing or replacing.

How to Keep a Worcester Boiler in Good Condition

Boilers don’t often come with much maintenance, but if you’re able to have your boiler serviced annually, we recommend you do so. Generally, Worcester boilers are a great option to choose for your home. Not only are they well known within the boiler industry for their advantages, but they come with a lengthy lifespan.

Regardless of whether you choose an inexpensive or expensive boiler, it’s in your best interest to get it serviced. Getting your boiler serviced avoids hefty costs in the future and provides you with reassurance that it won’t break any time soon.

Many of the issues that arise upon servicing your boiler are fixable on the day. A thorough boiler inspection allows engineers to detect any problems that could develop into something much worse in the near future.

If you happen to see any fault codes come up on your boiler screen, you’ll be able to let your engineer know what the problem is in real-time, allowing them to offer the best possible solution. The most common fault codes include:

  • EA – your boiler has not been ignited. The best option is to try resetting your boiler before getting in touch with an engineer.
  • D1 – your boiler could be overheating or have a damaged sensor. The safest option is to seek professional support straight away.
  • E9 – this means there’s a fault in the main heat exchanger. This requires urgent help from an engineer.
  • C1 – the fan inside your boiler is broken if you see this appear on the screen. It must be fixed by an engineer.
  • A1 – if this appears on your boiler screen, there’s a lack of water within the system. You can check the pressure gauge yourself and safely re-pressure the system if it’s cold.
